The tour begins with pick-up from your accommodation in La Paz in the morning. From there, we head to the first destination of the day: the Valley of the Souls, located about 30 minutes from the city. During the journey, the guide will provide information about the geology and history of the region, setting the stage for the adventure that awaits you.
Upon arrival at the Valley of the Souls, you will find yourself surrounded by gigantic rock formations that rise amid a mountainous desert. The pointed structures, known as “souls,” appear as stone guardians, and according to local legends, they represent souls trapped in the rock. You will begin a gentle hike through the valley, exploring the trails that will allow you to admire these impressive natural formations from different angles. During the walk, the guide will share stories about ancestral beliefs and the mystique surrounding the valley, making this both a visual and spiritual experience.
The hike will take you to viewpoints where you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and the rock formations stretching to the horizon. The silence and tranquility of the place will allow you to connect with nature and admire the imposing beauty of the landscape.
After exploring the Valley of the Souls, we will take a break to enjoy a snack before continuing the tour to the Valley of the Moon, located about 30 minutes by car. The Valley of the Moon gets its name from its unusual geological formations, which have been shaped by erosion over thousands of years, creating a landscape that seems to be from another planet.
Upon arrival at the Valley of the Moon, you will start a tour along the paths that wind between the rock formations. The strange figures of clay and sand resemble towers, spires, and canyons, forming a natural maze where each turn reveals a new and surprising view. During the walk, the guide will explain how the forces of nature have created this stunning landscape over time.
The Valley of the Moon is a place that invites reflection, with its irregular shapes and earthy colors that change with the light of day.
