Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache ~ Full Day

The Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache are a hidden gem in the Atacama Desert, made up of seven crystal-clear lagoons with turquoise waters that contrast with the surrounding arid landscape. Due to their high salt content, these lagoons allow you to float easily, creating an experience similar to that of the Dead Sea. This tour offers the opportunity to discover a peaceful corner of unique beauty, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the serenity of the desert. It’s a must-do for those who want to explore the hidden magic of Atacama.

Itinerary

For this activity, we will pick you up from your hotel and then head to these incredible lagoons with their amazing colors. We will go in the direction of the road to Calama, and when we reach the Llano de la Paciencia, located between the Cordillera de la Sal and the Cordillera de Domeyko, we’ll travel approximately 40 km enjoying the beautiful landscapes offered by both mountain ranges, arriving at these stunning lagoons in around 40 to 50 minutes. We will pay the entrance fee on-site, and this will be the last chance for a swim until the end of the tour.

Upon arrival at the lagoons, only one will be available for swimming, where we will have about 20 minutes to bathe. We will also take a short walk around the other lagoons, which are for contemplation only. We will walk on the salt that emerges from these lagoons and witness the breathtaking scenery they offer. After these activities, we will rinse off the excess salt from our bodies and then head to a beautiful spot where we will enjoy a delicious pisco sour along with a tasty snack. After this final activity, we will return to the final meeting point, the center of San Pedro de Atacama.
